NOTICE: You are submitting an application for student transfer OUTSIDE of the 2023-24 transfer window.
Your application will require documentation of extenuating circumstances to be considered for approval.

If this is an application for transfer for the 2024-2025 school year, please wait until March 1, 2024 and complete the regular transfer application found on the Monongalia County Schools web site in the Students & Parents section.

Your signature below indicates your understanding that this is an out-of-season application for transfer during the 2023-24 school year and that you will be required to provide documentation of extenuating circumstances for this application to be considered.

Please Note The Following Procedures And Notes:

The student should first be enrolled in their attendance area school before requesting a transfer.
All transfers are granted on a one year (school year) basis. Approved transfer requests must be renewed annually.
No bus transportation is provided when you transfer to a school outside of your home school attendance area.
If the student-teacher ratio allowable by WV Code is exceeded, transfer students must return to their respective home schools.
Transfer students must observe school rules and regulations and attend school regularly; refusal to do so may result in having their transfer status rescinded.
An out of county transfer request requires a copy of grades, attendance, and discipline records. Requests may be denied and/or rescinded based on lack of grade level or program capacity. There is no guarantee of placement into the school requested.
Transfer students are subject to the rules and regulations of the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission.
Transfer requests may be submitted between March 1^stthrough May 31^st, prior to the next school year. Applications outside of this window will require documentation of extenuating circumstances.

The Following Are Required To Complete This Application:

Student name, grade, WV Student ID number, and physical residence address (to P.O. Box, etc.)
Parent/guardian name, mailing address, contact phone and email.
Documentation of legal guardianship/foster placement, if applicable (may be submitted electronically or to the MCS Atttendance Office).
information on any student truancy proceedings, suspensions, and/or expulsions.
Current report of grades, attendance and discipline if the student is NOT currently enrolled in Monongalia County Schools.
