This internship experience offers a combination of workshops that will teach skills to reduce stress reactions, peer support groups, mindfulness training and internship positions within eight different departments that produce the festival. We see veterans as community leaders. We honor the sacrifices they made in service to our country and believe they have valuable wisdom. This program will also allow for veterans to share their wisdom and teach stress reduction skills to the festival community.
The Electric Forces program offers a choice between participation in one weekend or both weekends. There will be an designated area close to work sites for camping with showers. This will be a paid internship experience; work shifts will consist of 8-10 hours. There will be meals provided through catering. There will be transportation to work sites once on site. Veterans must find their own way to festival location. A small stipend will be provided to help offset travel costs for veterans coming from states that are outside of the shuttle areas offered.
Lastly, we also recognize that military service members may struggle with prolonged stress from exposure to unimaginable perils and hardship while serving our country. If there are barriers we have a consultant who can confidentially correspond with you and answer questions about how to best support you on site.
Crowd exposure can be more challenging for some. We want to ensure that each veteran is supported. In order to participate in this program, you may be required to have established medical care and provide a limited release of information and show a copy of your DD214 for qualification.
