Caring for your new pup!

What is your preferred level of exercise/energy level of your new dog? *
What areas do you have available for the dog OUTSIDE your home? Please use the option that says "OTHER" below and list the areas that are available. (since this question only lets you choose one option, please choose "other" ) *

Where will your dog sleep at night? (please choose the "OTHER" option if you need to select more than one option, and then list them) *

If I have a fence, I promise to inspect my fence thoroughly before my new dog is delivered. If something comes up in the home check, I will make necessary repairs for safety of my new dog.

Do you have a swimming pool? *
Are you prepared to keep your new pup for the rest of his or her life? *
Are you prepared to financially care for your new pup? Estimates for caring for a dog can average about $1000 per year. May include boarding, training, flea treatments, food, grooming, illness. We recommend pet insurance. *
You agree that if you adopt from Lucky Pup Dog Rescue and you need to relinquish or re-home your Lucky Pup dog that you will return the dog to Lucky Pup Dog Rescue. Our rescue dogs are NEVER to be turned into a shelter under any circumstances. Our dogs are not to be re-homed without our express written permission, and complete adoption assessment. Please know that we really, really love our rescue dogs and want the very best "happily ever" after for them. *

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Remember, we are volunteers!   So please be patient with us.  As quickly as we can, and once we receive your completed application, and it is approved. We will contact you.  We will set a time to meet the dog(s) you are interested in....they may be located around the city in foster homes, so it may take a few days to arrange.  Please, please bring everyone involved in the decision, as well as everyone who lives in your home: your family members, roommates, friends.  Your other dogs are welcome to come as well.

Please do your best to be on time, as we are all volunteers!  If we all decide together that it's a good fit, we will set a time for a home check.

We aren't able to adopt our rescue dogs out of the country.  On very rare occasions we will adopt a dog outside the San Diego area. It is a much more time consuming and involved process, so San Diego county residents have first priority to adopt.

Thank you for considering a RESCUE dog first!!!

* Not every dog is a perfect fit for every situation, so please know that your application in no way guarantees an adoption will take place. We do our very best to ensure that our adoptions are successful and that it's a good fit for you as well as the dog you are interested in.  Thank you for your understanding.

Your Donation to Lucky Pup Dog Rescue

We suggest a minimum donation of $200 ($250 for puppies under one year and $300 for specific breeds)   This is a tax deductible donation that supports the life saving rescue work we do.

Your donation helps to cover the cost of the pup you adopt.  Your pup has been spayed or neutered,  is up to date on vaccinations, wormed, seen by a vet at least once, they often have dental work, training and a variety of other medical conditions we treat when they arrive. Often we have to treat broken bones, knee surgery, eye surgery, parvo, distemper and other life threatening conditions.   Additionally, we feed them top notch food, and supplements ( salmon oil, probiotics) because they are often malnurished at the time we rescue them.  We also provide flea treatments for several months before they are adopted and provide grooming to make them look adorable.

When we adopt a dog into a new home,  this helps us to rescue another dog from death row at the shelter.  We are a 501c3, our IRS # 90-0753223.  Thank you!
