Dates:

Session I:
January 16th, 23th, 30th and February 6th

Session II:
February 20th, 27th, March 6th, 13th

Session III:
March 27th, April 3rd, April 10th, April 17th

Please note that there is one week off between each 4-week session.

Cost: $240.00 per student / THREE $80 payments for each of the three 4-week sessions.  The first payment is due upon completion of this registration.

Optionally, you can choose to purchase a micro:bit - the micro-controller that we will be using through most of the sessions through us on the form below so it can be taken home for further exploration.  The cost is $20 per micro:bit.  We have micro:bits that the kids can use in class if you prefer not to purchase one.


SAVE $10 - Pay $230 if all three sessions (full semester) are paid in full upon completing this registration.

12 Week Home School Introduction to Digital Electronics Using Scratch 3.0, C, and Python for ages 9+

Prerequisites: Basic computer keyboard and mouse skills.

1st Four Weeks – Coding in Scratch 3.0 

Scratch is a colorful coding environment that teaches kids computational thinking and problem-solving and enables your children to express their creativity in new and exciting ways.  In the first four weeks will learn how to create games in the new Scratch 3.0 and explore its new extensions including the micro:bit extension.

2nd Four Weeks – Coding the micro:bit

In these four weeks we will explore the micro:bit microprocessor and learn how to code various electronic projects using makecode as well as microPython (a subset of the Python language for electronics and robotics). To learn more about the micro:bit visit https://microbit.org

 

3rd  Four Weeks – Coding Electronics With C using LetsStartCoding.com

In the final four weeks, we explore another electronics platform using the LetsStartCoding.com Coding Kits and learn the powerful C programming language.  Using C we will make things light up, flash, buzz, and beep and will integrate sensors into our projects as well.
