If the purchaser is a resident  in two or more counties  in the state, use the rate in effect in the place where the motor vehicle, trailer, or boat will be principally used or garaged, which is currently 8.875%. If the new owner is a business, use the tax rate of the place of business. If the business has locations in two or more counties in the state, use the rate in effect in the place where the motor vehicle, trailer, or boat will be principally used  or garaged. For an ATV or snowmobile, use the higher rate of where the new owner took delivery, or where the vehicle is stored  or used  if new owner has a residence in storage/use locality.

Service Agreement

Purchaser certification: I certify that  the above statements are true and  complete; and  I make  these statements with the knowledge that  willfully issuing  a false or fraudulent statement with the intent to evade tax is a misdemeanor under  Tax Law section 1817(b), and  Penal  Law section 210.45, punishable by a fine up to $10,000 for an individual and  $20,000 for a corporation.

 

Terms of Service: By using this service, you agree to pay the convenience fee, depending on what service speed you selected, and additionally you agree to pay the taxes due depending on what amount of money you paid for the vehicle. Furthermore, you also agree to pay the registration fee, which may be less or more than what was quoted. You also certify that you and no one else is filling out this form, and that the license provided, title, and any other pertinent documents not covered by the aforementioned are true. Any false or fraudulent statement on this application is illegal and constitutes fraud and is punishable with both civil and criminal penalties. By clicking the "Submit" button, you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. There is $50 for next day transactions. This fee does not include pick up and delivery of your documents.

Electronic Signature Consent: A. Electronic Signature Agreement: By submitting your electronic signature, you are signing this Agreement electronically. You agree your electronic signature is the legal equivalent of your manual signature on this Agreement. By selecting "I Accept" you consent to be legally bound by this Agreement's terms and conditions. You further agree that your use of a key pad, mouse or other device to select an item, button, icon or similar act/action, or to otherwise provide Skip the Trip LLC. instructions via this website, or in accessing or making any transaction regarding any agreement, acknowledgement, consent terms, disclosures or conditions constitutes your signature (hereafter referred to as "E-Signature"), acceptance and agreement as if actually signed by you in writing. You also agree that no certification authority or other third party verification is necessary to validate your E-Signature and that the lack of such certification or third party verification will not in any way affect the enforceability of your E-Signature or any resulting contract between you and Skip the Trip LLC. You also represent that you are authorized to enter into this Agreement for all persons who own or are authorized to access any of your accounts and that such persons will be bound by the terms of this Agreement. You further agree that each use of your E-Signature in obtaining Skip the Trip LLC. services constitutes your agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Skip the Trip LLC. Disclosures and Agreements as they exist on the date of your E-Signature. B. Valid and current email address, notification and updates: Your current valid email address is required in order for you to obtain Skip the Trip Online services. You agree to keep Skip the Trip LLC. informed of any changes in your email address. Skip the Trip LLC. may notify you through email when an Electronic Communication or updated agreement pertaining to Skip the Trip LLC. Online is available. C. Hardware, software and operating system. You are responsible for installation, maintenance, and operation of your computer, browser and software. Skip the Trip LLC. is not responsible for errors or failures from any malfunction of your computer, browser or software. Skip the Trip LLC. is also not responsible for computer viruses or related problems associated with use of an online system. The following are the minimum hardware, software and operating system requirements necessary to Skip the Trip Online and receive Electronic Communications: Processor - IBM compatible Pentium PC running Windows 2000 Memory - 4MB RAM Disc Space - 50 MB's Free Space Monitor - 800 x 600 resolutions Browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher Internet access - 28.8 modem or better D. Controlling Agreement. This Agreement supplements and modifies other agreements that you may have with Skip the Trip LLC. To the extent that this agreement and another agreement contain conflicting provisions, the provisions in this agreement will control (with the exception of provisions in another agreement for an electronic service which provisions specify the necessary hardware, software and operating system, in which such other provision controls). All other obligations of the parties remain subject to the terms and conditions of any other agreement. To obtain electronic services and communications, indicate your consent to the terms and conditions of this Agreement by clicking on the "I Accept" button. It is recommended that you print a copy of this Agreement for future reference.

Privacy notification: Privacy notification — The Commissioner of Taxation and Finance may collect and maintain personal information pursuant to the New York State Tax Law, including but not limited to, sections 5-a, 171, 171-a, 287, 308, 429, 475, 505, 697, 1096, 1142, and 1415 of that Law; and may require disclosure of social security numbers pursuant to 42 USC 405(c)(2)(C)(I).This information will be used to determine and administer tax liabilities and, when authorized by law, for certain tax offset and exchange of tax information programs as well as for any other lawful purpose. Information concerning quarterly wages paid to employees is provided to certain state agencies for purposes of fraud prevention, support enforcement, evaluation of the effectiveness of certain employment and training programs and other purposes authorized by law. Failure to provide the required information may subject you to civil or criminal penalties, or both, under the Tax Law.
