Some of the reasons below require additional documentation to be excused.

A physician's or other appropriate professional's documentation will be required for ANY of these reasons to excuse more than 5 absences per semester (6th through 12th grade) or 10 absences per year (pre-K through 5th grade)

NOTE: Administrators can no longer approve excused absences for personal or academic travel. This was changed by action of the WV State Legislature during the 2024 session. Absences for vacation and similar purposes will be unexcused.
