The Nicholas E. Vlattas Summer Scholar position provides a unique opportunity for design students and design professionals to work side by side and learn from each other. Project work, a research project, design research trips, lectures and critiques are included in the summer experience. This full-time position, providing competitive compensation and a housing allowance, is open to undergraduates and graduate students continuing or completing their degree in architecture or interior design.
The Program will begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and end on Friday, August 8, 2025. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in one of the following Hanbury office locations: Baltimore, Md., Clemson, S.C., Grand Rapids, Mich., Norfolk, Va., Raleigh, N.C., or Richmond, Va.
To qualify, candidates must complete all three application requirements. These include a portfolio, resume, and application form (basic information and academic/professional references). Applications will be reviewed upon receipt with selections being made as early as January and the application submission will close at midnight on Monday, March 9. Applicants will be notified of their entry status in early April and once the offers have been accepted.
