As part of ongoing efforts to provide members with DEI resources, AAIM is gathering best practices from members and institutions in the following areas:
-Avoiding inappropriate questions during resident and fellow interviewing
-Avoiding implicit bias in letters of recommendation
-Equity in the promotion process (including recognition of DEI in the faculty promotion process)
-Retention and attrition strategies for learners and faculty who are underrepresented in medicine
These best practices will be collated and shared with members in the future as a resource for your own programs and institutions.
