Grade Level Ambassadors
Self-Nomination Form
Thank you for your interest in serving AACT in a leadership capacity!  We appreciate your dedication to the community. 
 
The AACT governing board is composed mostly of K–12 teachers of chemistry, including three grade-level ambassadors; one elementary school ambassador, one middle school ambassador, and one high school ambassador.  Please note that in order to serve in this capacity you must:
  • Be an AACT member.
  • Be a current K–8 teacher of science that includes chemistry or 9–12 teacher of chemistry.
  • Be available to participate in an on-site leadership meeting in Washington, DC in July. Exact schedule TBD. Travel and lodging will be provided by AACT.
If you are interested, please complete this form no later than May 3, 2024. All self-nominations will be reviewed by the AACT Nominating & Awards Committee.  Only three nominees for each position will appear on the ballot as candidates.
 
Please note that if you are selected as one of the three candidates, your name, personal statement, photo, years of experience, and interests will be published to a locked page on teachchemistry.org which AACT members will access before casting their votes.

About the Ambassador Position

Grade band ambassadors must be a practicing K–8 teacher of science that includes chemistry or 9–12 teacher of chemistry.  Ambassadors will serve a one-year term (2024–2025) and will serve as representatives of the grade band in which they teach.
