Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a coach for the Science Coaches program!
 
Please complete the form below to apply for the 2023–2024 school year.
 
The program is for US participants only. Former or retired teachers, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, professors, or other industry professionals are eligible to apply as coaches. (Current K–12 teachers and undergraduate students may not serve as coaches.) You may not share finances with your teacher partner.
 
If you have a teacher in mind, please enter the name and email address they will use in their application when asked for your teacher partner's information. For more details about the program requirements and benefits, please visit the Science Coaches website.
 
Important Dates
  • Phase 1: Applications are open. Applications received by June 1 will be reviewed, and selected partnerships will be notified in July. If you do not hear from us in July, we will try to find you a partner in Phase 2.
  • Phase 2: The final deadline is September 1. If you are not matched in Phase 1, or if you apply after June 1, we will review your application and will notify you of your status by October 2.
  • Note: Applicants are not guaranteed program participation.
Application Timeline
This program has a two-phase application and program acceptance timeline. Other than being able to start your partnership earlier in the year, there is no difference, whether you are notified in Phase 1 or Phase 2, to program benefits or requirements.

This year, we are piloting the opportunity for a limited number of coaches to work with up to two teachers as official partners in the Science Coaches program. If you indicate below that you wish to participate in the program with a second teacher, please be sure you have the time to commit to six meetings throughout the school year with each teacher!
