HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION

To successfully submit your application, follow these steps:
  1. Fill out the application form provided and sign the declaration.
  2. Provide ALL the necessary supporting evidence.
  3. Students who wish to apply for leave must submit this application before Census Date.
  4. Students who, for any reason, desire to pause their studies (such as a study break, emergency leave, or long -term medical leave) MUST obtain prior approval from ASA. You will receive notification by email, within 10 business days regarding the outcome of your application

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Important Note: Postponing, suspending, or discontinuing enrolment may impact your student visa.
ASA is obligated to notify the Department of Education and Training through PRISMS in accordance with the ESOS Act 2000.
To adhere to visa conditions, international students must:
  1. Maintain a valid visa.
  2. Complete their course by the specified expected completion date on the eCoE.
  3. Provide the Institute with address details within seven days of arrival or any address changes.
  4. Sustain a full-time study load.
  5. Abide by the maximum number of hours allowed to work on the student visa.
  6. Maintain Overseas Student Health Cover or its equivalent.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE CONDITIONS

To be able to take leave, students must meet the following criteria
  1. Completion of two consecutive study periods at ASA.
  2. Maintain a satisfactory academic performance or complete a minimum of 7 subjects in one academic year.
  3. Ensure adequate time to finish the course within the dates specified in the eCoE.
Furthermore, an earlier study break may be considered in cases of compelling reasons or due to medical conditions. The student is required to furnish a comprehensive explanation along with ample supporting documents.

CONDITIONS

If an international student takes leave without approval, you may be at risk of the following
  1. Unexplained absence without prior approval could lead to the cancellation of your eCoE.
  2. The cancellation of your eCoE has the potential to affect your student's visa status.
  3. Possession of an invalidated eCoE may result in denial of re-entry to Australia by the Department of Home Affairs.
  4. ASA cannot assure the re-issuance of a new eCoE in the event of its cancellation.
