Thanks for your interest in the CARE Service Leaders program. If you and your proposal are accepted via this application, you would become the primary leader, or co-leader, responsible for programming for a given social concern for the academic year through the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement. You will be responsible for at aspects of management for at least one program per month for your chosen topic during your term of leadership. When not engaged in programming, you will consult and advocate for your chosen topic. The application will ask you to outline your vision to address and accomplish direct service, indirect service, advocacy, education and other related avenues within your focus area. Provided we have funding to support it, this will become your program for the year.
Term of service is for September, 2014-May 2015. Some training may take place in late April/May 2014.
Applications are due March 17, 2014 at 5 pm.
Students eligible for work study may consider using this as their 2014-15 work study placement. If this is your work study position, and would like to include fundraising as one of the programs in your proposal, please speak to Karen, 232-8182 or email@example.com
Students not eligible for work study may consider applying to use this as an internship. Internships require additional paperwork
, in cooperation with the Career Development Office. Other than federal work study, this is not a compensated position.
After you submit your application, Karen will e-mail you a link to sign up for an interview. If this will be a co-position (two leaders for one portfolio) both applicants should sign up to interview together. Students may apply for leadership addressing more than one social concern, but should complete a separate application for each social concern. All prposals will be discussed in your interview, so be prepared to indicate which social concern is your top priority.
