The Service Block

How can we tailor a computer maintenance package, that is priced exactly right? One way of guaranteeing that the basic maintenance is done and you don’t over pay is by the “Service Block Arrangement”. This way you purchase a block of maintenance hours or labor at a reduced cost.

By this method, your computer(s) are guaranteed to be serviced and the large cost taken out of an unexpected failure. You don’t pay in a block but by a monthly payment. This way you are certain to get the basics done and niggling problems fixed.

Ten hours maintenance work per year on each computer is all that is required. This includes three or more service calls a year. The “Service Block” acts like an insurance policy as well as a maintenance agreement helping you to operate a smoothly. This agreement ensures you do not pay any more than necessary.

  The Agreement

Thasay© I T (hereunder referred to as the Company) agrees to maintain your computer(s) in normal working order subject to the conditions set out below.

  Conditions of Service

Time of service: The Company shall carry out its obligations of this agreement Monday thru Saturday between 8am – 9 pm. The Company does not provide service under this agreement on Sundays or public holidays. There is no service under this agreement between Christmas and New Year.

Under warranty equipment: Where the equipment has a “Return to Base” warranty, it means the warranty covers the cost of parts and labour when returned to the wholesaler’s workshop. Any onsite labor would be outside the warranty.

 
Phone support: Some problems can be fixed on the phone. Short phone calls (less than 5 minutes) will not be logged but long calls will be logged as one half service job. No charge for email and instant messenger support.

 

The cost per computer of the agreement: The normal casual labor rate is $55 per hour (1 Technician). A ten hour “Service Block” for one computer per year is $450. ($45 hour)

Travel time to your place: The standard time it takes to travel to your place of business is charged to the “Service Block".

Backup of data: Company is not liable for any loss of user data, use, revenue, anticipatory profits, or for any direct or consequential damages arising out of or connected with service, sales or operation.

Termination of the service agreement: Every year the agreement is reviewed. If either party wants to terminate or amend the agreement during the year …30 days notice is required.

Extra hours that are required in addition to the “Service Block”:  This will happen occasionally and you will be invoiced for the extra hours at the reduced rate of $45 within the 12 month time frame.

The maintenance routine: The maintenance routine is executed at regular 4 month intervals. For efficiency, this can be carried out on a service call of up to a month ahead of schedule.

4.) Optimize hard disk and rearrange data.

 

5.) Remove unnecessary programs and start-ups that are slowing your system

6.) All system spyware/adware protection is up to date and configured correctly.

7.) Detect registry and operating system problems.

 

8.) Optimize your network.

 

9.) Find a solution for any software glitches you may have.

 

10.) Major discounts on software purchases.

11.) Make sure data backups, if any, are carried out correctly.
