Company Overview: Open English (www.OpenEnglish.com) is an online school created to reinvent the English learning experience. Through live language instruction and multi-media learning content accessible via the internet, Open English empowers students on their path to English fluency. We have a dedicated team of certified ESL teachers working from home all around the world. Our student base extends across Latin America and Spain. 


Program Overview:  Open English live classes break away from the rigid, traditional board and textbook teaching methods found in other classrooms. Instead, students participate in live language instruction online with a curriculum designed to teach English through the use of interactive language games and an exciting online virtual world. 

Position: Our company is accepting applications for online ESL teachers. You will be able to work remotely from home, anywhere in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified individuals to grow within an established, reliable company. 

Job Requirements: 
- Must be a native English speaker with American or British accent. 
- Have experience teaching English to adults of all levels;
- Be able to teach at least 15 hours of classes per week (Nights 6 PM - 12 AM EST and weekends are preferred);
- Reliable, high-speed (at least 1 MB) Internet connection and quiet working space from home, sound capabilities with audio headset, and Office 2007 or later;
- Speak and write Spanish or Portuguese fluently;
- Good comfort level with online applications & technology;
- Must become certified by completing Open English's Live Instruction Certification Process.

Type of work: Independent contractor

Location: Anywhere

Compensation: $9 per class; $10 per class after the first 6 invoice periods (bi-monthly, approximately 15 days between invoices), $10.50 after 12 invoice periods, $11 after 18 invoice periods and $12 per class after teaching 48 consecutive invoice periods in good standing.

Availability

Our teachers set their own work preferences every week, but please tell us about your general availability. Our teaching blocks are usually between 3 to 6 classes (hours) depending on student capacity needs.

1. If you are not able to start teaching within the next month, please wait and fill out the application at a later date. 
2. Currently we are exclusively hiring instructors who are available and willing to teach until 12 AM ET (midnight), starting at 6 PM ET or after. Upon hire, you may be allowed to expand your available hours; however, earlier openings may not be available until a further date.
