The Fatigued Driving Evaluation Checklist

We are very interested in the opinions of our clients on matters of importance in the transportation safety industry.

Currently, the Minnesota State Patrol has implemented a Fatigued Driving Evaluation Checklist into some roadside inspections. Along with the driver and driving behaviors, the checklist asks about the condition of the truck, sleeper birth, and cab to try to determine a fatigue level of the driver. A high fatigue level can result in the driver being placed OOS (out of service), possibly a fine, and a black mark on your SafeStat score. If this checklist proves to be successful in the state of Minnesota, other states might implement the process as well.
